MARICARMEN PUENTE

She is a Mexican multidisciplinary plastic artist. At the beginning of her career, she developed within design, learning various techniques together with jewelry masters such as Alfonso Soto-Soria, from the Tane brand; Enzo Silvestrini, from the renowned Tiffany jewelry store; Aurelio Mortet, from Bottega Mortet; among others.

It was in this period that she was able to develop a creative capacity that will take her to other media such as sculpture.

She learned sculptural techniques in the workshop of the master Gustavo Salmones in Mexico City, where she found her true vocation. Later she entered the studio of the teacher Luis Luna, where she will study new techniques and materials.

Due to her successful career, the Senate of the Republic granted her recognition for her contributions to the art and culture of Zacatecas, after having been invited to be part of the Zacatecas Land of Artists exhibition. The artist has participated in both exhibitions and auctions with a strong social inclination, supporting foundations such as Paz y Amor in Zacatecas.

She recently participated in a charity auction held by the Illuminate for Autism Foundation, in which her pieces exceeded the starting price. The artist already has a program for next year, with an exhibition at the Manuel Felguérez Museum of Abstract Art and another traveling exhibition that will travel from Mexico to the United States, visiting the cities of Chicago and Los Angeles.
