Carlos Vivar (Mexico City, 1964) is a self-taught painter and sculptor whose work reflects a constant search for artistic exploration and growth.

After beginning studies in graphic design at Universidad Anáhuac, he chose to pursue his artistic path independently, traveling through Europe – particularly England and Italy – where he encountered the legacy of the twentieth-century avant-garde and the work of artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Georges Braque, and Joan Miró.

Since his first exhibition in 1994, Vivar has developed a prolific career with more than 160 exhibitions in Mexico and internationally. His work blends figurative, constructivist, and naïve elements, characterized by vibrant color and a dynamic visual language.

Today, his paintings and sculptures form part of numerous private and corporate collections, reflecting an artistic practice that bridges cultures, traditions, and contemporary expression.
