Hermine Demirtshyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She grew up in an artistic environment and began painting at the age of 6 in the studio of her uncle, Aram Macharyan, a renowned Armenian painter. She restored ancient miniatures at the National Museum of Yerevan; painted murals in Stepanavan, and created animations at Armen Film Studios. In 1999, she moved to Mexico, where she learned new techniques and defined her style by blending the two cultures.
